Law Student Advocacy
Social change is won by social movements of people organizing to leverage our collective power. As law students, many of us have to overcome discriminatory barriers to be here, but all of us have the capacity to push for change. We need law students to:
Organize with students at your schools.
Advocate for their own school administrations to remove the criminal history interactions question from their law school applications. Find those questions on applications to New York law schools in UTB’s 2022 chart here.
Advocate for your administrators to recommend that the Office of Court Administration eliminate the discriminatory questions from the Character and Fitness application and process (sign up to receive advocacy materials).
